Minda Strategic Foresight

Looking beyond recovery to becoming a leading voice for those with an intellectual disability in South Australia.

Overview

The purpose of this project is two-fold – first, to explore, understand and better answer the question “Who is the client and how will Minda serve them in the future”. Second, to engage with staff and other stakeholders in a series of activities that will build their capacity to gather and analyse trends and understand their potential impact in the future.

Workshops

This project will conduct the following workshops:
Kick Off - September 14 2023
How to do Trend Analysis - Sept 26 2023
Trend Analysis & Findings - Oct 3 & 10 2023
Driving Forces Identification
Taking the identified driving forces from each group, this workshop will combine and analyse driving forces across the entire project team. We will then begin to analyse how these driving forces are affecting Minda now and in the future.
Critical Uncertainties & Scenario Identification
This workshop will identify the key driving forces and the uncertainties that they produce. These critical uncertainties will form the backbone of the scenarios.
Scenario Development (2x)
We will split into smaller working groups to create plausible scenarios along the different mixtures of critical uncertainties.
Scenario Review
We will share the scenarios and review them critically to ensure that they are plausible, provocative and can be used for future strategic planning.
Scenario Impacts
We will use a Scenario Matrix to evaluate how current and future strategies for Minda may perform in the future. Based on this analysis we can then make suggestions for future strategic plans.
Scenario Video Review
A memorable video will be created for each scenario, helping stakeholders understand our envisioned futures. We will use this workshop to critically review each video to make sure it delivers our message.
Final Presentation
This final workshop will present the scenario videos, learnings and reflections from the project team.
